As we settle into our fall schedule, we have an important need in Seedlings. We’re looking for more people who are willing to serve with our kids on Sunday mornings.

Serving in Seedlings is an opportunity to have a real part in helping our children know God’s Word and grow in their relationship with Him. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you volunteer. Lessons and materials are provided, and we’ll help you get started.

If you’ve considered serving with our kids, this would be a great time to step in.

On Sunday, October 4, Roots will be joining other churches throughout the Bitterroot Valley for Life Chain. From 2:30 to 3:30pm, we’ll gather along Highway 93 for a peaceful time of prayer as we remember lives lost to abortion and pray for the protection of unborn life.

We encourage you to mark the date and plan to join us. We’ll share more details about where to meet as October 4 gets closer.

Once again this year, we have an opportunity to encourage the girls at the Restoring Hope safe house in Nepal and help make Christmas special for each of them.

You’ll find photos of the girls on the table in the entry. Choose a photo and write a personal Christmas card for that girl, then follow the instructions on the back if you’d also like to give toward the gifts and needed items that will be purchased for them in Nepal.

You can keep the photo as a reminder to pray for her, and return your completed card to the basket on Michelle’s desk by October 11. If you have questions, talk with Leah Duke.

It’s time for our annual church directory update. If you’d like to be included in the directory, or if any of your information has changed click the link below to update your information. 

You can also fill out a paper copy at the desk in the entry and drop it in the basket there when you’re finished. If your information hasn’t changed, there’s nothing you need to do when you receive the reminders.

There's a lot happening at Roots as we head into fall, and we'd really encourage you to find a place to be part of it. Take a look at the Get Involved page and see where the Lord might be leading you to get connected.

Registration is open for our MS Fall Retreat happening October 23-25, 2026 at Big Sky Bible Camp! This is open to any 6th-8th grader in the Valley (not just Roots youth). The cost is $175 which covers food, lodging and transportation. (Scholarships are available) The registration deadline is Sunday, October 4th, click the link below to sign up.

We are also looking for parents to help chaperone the retreat. If you are interested in chaperoning, click on the "Chaperone Squad" application link below.

For any Roots HS youth interested in serving at the retreat, please complete an application form below. Matt will be in touch.

Youth Group is also back this week, with new hours this fall, meeting from 6:30 to 8:30pm each Wednesday. Students who have moved up into Youth Group can begin attending this week, so parents, be sure to make note of the new time.

Home Groups are a chance to take what we're learning on Sundays and continue the conversation during the week. You'll spend time in God's Word with others and build relationships that go beyond Sunday mornings. If you've been wanting to get more connected at Roots, we'd really encourage you to consider joining a Home Group this fall.

You've probably noticed our recent parking lot improvements as well as volunteers helping direct parking before each service. We kindly ask that you follow their directions as they help create room for guests and visitors.

We're also looking for a few more people to help with parking. If you're interested, stop by Michelle's desk in the entry after service.

Each Sunday morning at 8am, a group gathers to pray before first service. It's a time to pray for our church, our leadership, and the morning ahead. Everyone is welcome to join in, so if you'd like to come early and spend some time in prayer with others, we'd love to have you.

Just a reminder that we gather for Missions Prayer on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 7pm. This is a special time for us to come together and pray for our missionaries in Kosovo and Korea, and for the safe house in Nepal. We’d love for you to join us
as we lift them up, encourage one another, and trust God for His work around the world.
